• I COULDN’T agree more with historian Gillian Tindall, the archives are unique and deserve top treatment – not just pencilled, vague, ideas, (‘Save our archive’ plea from historian as scheme is ‘paused’, September 3).

For quite a few years I have heard various solutions offered but nothing materialised. The Cockpit project is now resting. For how long?

Moving the collection out of the borough defies logic. I hope that Camden’s new culture boss will come up with a remedy. That would be a good deed in a naughty world.
