St Martin’s Gardens, with wild flowers in full bloom
• I’D like to say a big thank you to all those involved in tending St Martin’s Gardens in Camden Street.
Too often small city parks, in the front line of local funding cuts, are scruffy and uninviting. But somehow St Martin’s bucks this trend – the roses are pruned and fertilised and shrubs and borders kept neat. We have a swathe of crocuses in early spring and now a wild flower corner in full bloom.
I am sure that I speak for all those people who benefit from this lovely little park – who go there to sit in the sun or shade, eat lunch, bring children to play or dogs to exercise or, like myself, simply to walk through. So thank you keepers of St Martin’s Gardens your efforts are really appreciated.
