Thanks to the government on levelling-up awards

Thursday, 26th January 2023

• IT is excellent news that the government has just awarded Camden Council over £7.7million from round two of the Levelling Up Fund, to help reduce health inequalities in Kentish Town South, Gospel Oak and Haverstock by investing in cycling and walking infrastructure, and local GP services.

Prime minister Rishi Sunak and levelling-up secretary Michael Gove clearly believe that investing in areas such as ours is crucial to spreading opportunity to all corners of the country.

Neighbouring Brent was awarded the same amount in round one of the fund, to support regenerating South Kilburn’s Granville Community Hub, a clear example of how government investment is truly transformative.

“Levelling-up” is not just a slogan. It will have a direct impact on the lives of those living in our area, building sense and pride of place and community. Thank you to the government for delivering.
