Thanks to the council for fixing the plumbing problem
Thursday, 4th February 2021
• NOW I can say it loud – I love Camden Council!
There’s a problem called “water hammer” a kind of plumbing problem, hard to locate in block of flats, and it caused deafening banging of pipes so loud people two floors down were disturbed.
Not an emergency in the strictest sense, as we had running water, but I had to get up every two hours in the night to turn taps on and off to stop the noise. After five nights I was a zombie.
So a big big thank you to the council for fixing it; to Jofri for finding an appointment; to the young housing officer who rang to check it was safe for her colleagues and said she is really missing Jamestown Road office and people; and to the plumber who solved the problem.
Another timely reminder of how important our public services are, and how we need to value and resource them now and post-Covid more than ever. No more cuts and privatisation.
