Thames Water – just keep on digging

Thursday, 9th December 2021

• AS I write this, Kentish Town Road continues every day to be a packed parking lot, after what is at least five weeks of road works at the junction of Prince of Wales Road.

How can the contractors have spun it out so long, to the misery and detriment of bus passengers, cyclists, pedestrians et al?

You may be hoping this “never-ending story” might actually end soon. But no: Thames Water have very recently written to us locals to inform us that they will be digging up both Kentish Town Road and Prince of Wales Road for at least a couple of weeks, commenting December 5 and I quote: “There will be a section of the carriageway fenced off with our barriers. There will be temporary traffic lights in place on the Prince of Wales Road. You may notice an increase in noise and vehicle movements…”.

Their explanation they give as to why is that it “…will ensure that we continue to supply you with a top-quality service.”

You couldn’t make it up!
