CAMDEN Town WFC wrote another chapter in their proud history on Sunday when they marched into the third qualifying round of the Women’s FA Cup for the first time.

And there was further proof that the club’s future is in safe hands after teenage striker Jada-Chey’ah Graham played a starring role in Town’s thumping 5-0 win over Soccer Elite WFC. More than 70 supporters packed into the Maurice Rebak Stadium in North Finchley to witness the 16-year-old making her full debut for Camden’s first-team after graduating from the club’s youth academy.

It took Graham just three minutes to announce herself, pouncing on a defensive slip from Sofia Novella before calmly slotting the ball past goalkeeper Lacey Campbell for her first senior goal.

But the fairytale didn’t end there. Soon after seeing Kelly Faye double Town’s lead, Graham struck again. This time the forward collected a clever pass from Hannah Gough, jinked past a defender and unleashed an unstoppable strike into the top corner from just outside the box.

Second-half goals from Rebecca Linney and Gemma Clenshaw wrapped up the rout, earning sixth-tier Town another home tie in the next round – this time against tier-four side Abingdon United.

After the match, Camden Town chair Richard Mahoney said: “This is exactly why we set up our youth academy two years ago, to give opportunities to players like Jada to shine on the biggest stage.

“To see a 16-year-old leading the line and delivering a performance like that in the most historic competition in the world is incredibly special. She’s a shining example of what this club is building.”
