WELTERWEIGHT Kian “The Technician” Thomas says “it doesn’t matter” who you put in the ring with him as he’s always ready to win.
The 24-year-old will step between the ropes at the Camden Centre in King’s Cross on Friday December 4 for his last fight of the year – but as yet he doesn’t know who will be standing opposite him. “Not knowing who my opponent will be is nothing new – as an amateur you get used to just focusing on your own training,” said Kian, who lives in Tufnell Park.
“It’s no big deal. I’m coming to win no matter who you put in front of me. I’m a mentally strong person, and not much bothers me.”
Kian boasts a perfect record in the paid ranks having won all three of his previous fights. It’s a record that reflects the trust he has in coach CJ Hussein, who he has been training alongside since his early days as an amateur at St Pancras ABC.
“I believe in CJ, and trust his judgment wholeheartedly,” he said. “I know he’ll always get me in the best possible shape before a fight.”
