Take down these offensive notices near the Royal Free

Thursday, 1st June 2023

• VISITORS to the Royal Free and staff love the garden planting in front of and beside the hospital, and in particular the lower garden with path through it; great for children to run along.

So I was appalled to see the uninspired planting alongside the new Pears building, with notices “please no trespassing”.

This would be funny – as if anyone would want to “trespass” on the weedy and bare areas of the garden – if it were not so aggressive and contrary to the spirit of the gardening around the hospital.

I ask that whoever put up these substantial and, no doubt, expensive notices should remove them immediately.

Not only are they offensive but they might be counterproductive by suggesting to people who dislike such unnecessary diktats to walk on this area…
