• MANY innovations thought safe turn out to be more complicated with long term use, (Best not to worry about harm because of 5G, July 25).

For example the “chemical soup” we all live in of synthetic fragrances, fire-proofing chemicals, cleaning sprays, dry cleaning fluids etc, are all routinely found in human body fat and now are found in almost all samples of human breast milk tested.

We’ve been ingested these “safe” amounts for years; only now are scientists starting to think they may be disrupting our endocrine and fertility hormones, leading to inflammatory illnesses and chronic pain in some.

There are several illnesses being linked to the high intensity 5G signals such as thyroid damage, cancers. Most of us presume these new systems are being managed or at least overseen by government bodies.

However the driving force behind these changes are financial. Powerful lobbyists are convincing / pressuring governments to accept 5G.

The profits and prestige to be gained by forcing ahead these 5G roll-outs seems to be unquestioned. 5G is as yet unproven, we still don’t know about 4G’s long term effects and some countries and states around the world are declining 5G roll-out due to health concerns.

Housing with 10 cellphone masts worry me. The damage being done by close proximity will show in time. As usual, when it is too late for the people living there and the damage has been done.

I suggest a precautionary principle. That everyone who uses wifi devices in their own home be obliged to screen these devices so that there is no “over-spill” of signal into neighbouring homes. Use of paints, fabrics and films can block transmission through walls, windows and floors.

At the very least everyone ought to reduce the hours of wifi signals being broadcast. Using a cheap plug-in mechanical timer to cut the power during sleep hours and when no one is at home.

Currently I am able to block almost all signals from my sleeping area with a canopy over my bed. I want the right to require neighbours to block their signal so only they are going to suffer any long-term effects.
