Swimmers should pay for their dips in the ponds
Friday, 19th July 2019

• THE City of London is missing one very obvious source of funding to help maintain Hampstead Heath and its facilities: the swimming ponds.
I would suggest fewer than half of swimmers actually pay the entrance fee (a modest £2 for an adult day ticket), and I have never seen any attempts at enforcement.
A small investment in automated gates would address this (with a wider, gate for disabled access).
