‘Swans’ story really lifted my spirits’

• I WAS thrilled to read the swans’ story, (Now Hampstead Heath’s swan romance becomes a book!, October 15).

They are birds showing the meaning of love, nothing to do with women’s rights, (The widow relegated to a supporting role, October 22).

It happened in lockdown when I was by myself. My husband had died – I couldn’t go out even to have a proper funeral for my husband.

The story really lifted my spirits and lots of other older people like me. I shall be buying the book.
