Suspending parking bays on Camden Road is an outrage
Friday, 11th September 2020
• WITH under 10 days’ notice and no consultation Transport for London has decided to suspend the parking bays in Camden Road which have been there well over 20 years.
The reason given is to improve bus journey times. This is an outrage. It will not improve bus journeys but rather unnecessarily take away a vital amenity from residents.
What will happen if there is a spike in Covid-19 and there is another strict lockdown?
I am 81 and have a number of health issues. During lockdown myself and my wife were locked down in our home. For six weeks, all our food and grocery shopping were delivered. A number of our neighbours were in a similar situation.
How are we going to manage the bare necessities of life in another lockdown? Are buses more important than residents who pay heavily to live in Camden?
The parking bays on Camden Road are vital to the residents of Camden Road and life for some will be impossible without them.
