Support the high line project

Thursday, 26th April 2018

• I AM writing in support of the Camden High Line project and to ask readers to look at the website: www.camdenhighline.com with a view to making a donation.

I have been involved with the leaders of this project, Camden Town Unlimited for 10 years and am proud to be associated with them as a residents’ representative.

Among their achievements have been improvements of the Camden Town centre; campaigns for community policing of Camden Lock; the phasing of the closure of Camden Town tube at weekends; and the talks to minimise disruption arising from HS2.

This most recent initiative seeks to transform a stretch of disused railway track from Camden Gardens to York Way, via Camden Road station and Camley Street gardens, into a pedestrian walkway.

This welcome addition to the green space in the borough would benefit residents and businesses alike. A substantial sum is required for the planning permission stage alone, and a number of local residents and other benefactors have already contributed towards this.

Camden Town Unlimited feel that the support of residents (as evidenced by donations) will positively influence the granting of planning permission.

The average donation is £47, however any sum is welcome. I hope that you will agree regarding the scope and scale of this project being worthy of your support.
