Kentish Town FC Under-12s won all seven of their matches in the 9-v-9 league
YOUNG footballers from across the borough and beyond had a big spring in their step following a Saturday of sunshine and silverware.
Among the top squads celebrating on the penultimate weekend of the season in the Regent’s Park Youth League was Kentish Town FC.
The club enjoyed unforgettable success, with various age groups joining the honours list.

Goals from Miles Da Silva-Smith and player-of-the-match Jake Louch (above) sealed a hard-fought 2-1 victory against North West Football Academy in the Under-9s League Cup final.
It’s the second successive season that the triumphant team has lifted a trophy having won the Under-8s League Cup 12 months ago, and club chairman Thomas Looney was quick to praise all the hard work being done on the training pitch.

He said: “I want to give a special mention to coach Daniel Flynn, who has done wonders with his Under-9s group for the past three years. For such a young coach he’s so mature in the way he handles a very talented group of young players.”
Town’s dominance continued with their Under-11s squad completing a league and cup double. Kian McLornan scored the only goal of the game as they edged ELA Juve 1-0 to win the League Cup.
The glory landed hot on the heels of the same group of players lifting the Under-12s 7-v-7 league – winning all eight of their fixtures in the process.
For fleet-footed Louch the success marked a fantastic individual campaign that saw the nine-year-old put in a starring role for two different age groups.

It’s little wonder that the talented midfielder is continually being linked with a string of top professional clubs.
“Jake has been outstanding this season, playing in his own age group and up two years in our Under-11s side as well,” said Looney. “You would never know that he wasn’t an Under-11s player, that’s how good he has been.
“I think this might be his last grassroots season as a lot of clubs are now looking to sign him, and I think it’s time for him to shine at a pro club.”
Kentish Town also showed their mettle in the Under-12s 9-v-9 league, clinching the title by just three points. They were crowned champions after winning all seven of their games – a feat that they managed while only conceding one goal, a penalty, all season.
Looney added: “It’s been another fantastic season at Regent’s Park, not only for the victories but also for the development of the club.
“The players and coaches are all working really hard to improve and develop the talent that we have and it’s showing on the pitch now in all of our age groups.”
