Just Play FC

CLUB allegiances are put aside and there’s no talk of winning silverware as talented young footballers from Just Play FC gather for their Friday night training session in Highgate.

A player in an Arsenal shirt uses the outside of his foot to find a team-mate wearing Chelsea colours, while the boys from Brazil bomb on down the wings. They all share the same goal – to become better footballers on the pitch, and better young people off it.

“I tell the players all the time, if you’re improving and enjoying your football then you are winning,” said founder Taff Rahman.

“Our motto is ‘together we move faster’. We’re more interested in learning and developing as a team then winning silverware.”

There could be no better example of Just Play’s ethos than watching the players come together to record a special get-well-soon video for club-mate Sebbie Sydenham (below), who has been ruled out for the season after breaking his leg on a ski-ing holiday.
