THERE’S no doubting the performance of the weekend in the Camden Sunday League.

That accolade fell to quicksilver striker Simon Higgins (pictured) who put in a masterclass of finishing at Hackney Marshes.

The Chalk Scratching forward scored all five goals as his side twice came from behind to beat Surreal Madrid in a nine-goal thriller in Division Three.

The pick of his goals saw the lethal front man twist and turn in the penalty area to earn himself a valuable half yard of space.

Then, without missing a beat, he curled home a peach of a shot into the top right corner.

The thrilling 5-4 victory sees Scratchings take pole position as the early pacesetters at the top of the table.

They’ve chalked up four wins out of four, igniting a chorus of “you’ll never chalk alone” around the Marshes.

The free-scoring side have banged in 25 goals so far, nine of which came courtesy of marksman Higgins.

Division Three was the place to be if you wanted to see goals on Sunday.

Lotus made it two wins out of two with a 10-3 victory over Rosemary Athletic.

And AFC Birkbeck Orient continued their unbeaten start to the season with an 8-0 win over St Peter’s.
