SIR Robert Peel put one hand on the champion­ship trophy on Monday after storming to a resounding 9-0 win over nearest rivals the King’s Cross Hurricanes.

It leaves the race for the Division One title in the Chalk Farm Pool League all but over.

There might still be 12 games left to play but with John Brown’s side now boasting a 21-point lead at the top of the table, it would surely take a miracle to stop them being crowned champions.
