AUDIFAX “The Stinger” Kinga put in a punch-perfect performance in the professional boxing ranks on Friday when he beat Khaliq Miah at the York Hall in Bethnal Green.
The 35-year-old, who lives in Kentish Town, has become a dominant force in the world of kickboxing, winning numerous European and world titles.
On Friday he proved that even when he’s not allowed to use his feet, he can still get his kicks as he out-pointed Miah over six rounds to win the UKBU British title and reign victorious in his first ever professional boxing bout. In the final round Kinga brought the roaring crowd to his feet as he dropped his opponent to the canvas with a vicious left hook to the body, quickly followed by a powerful right hand to the head.
“It was a fun night, and I’m delighted to have won in such a commanding fashion,” said the light-middleweight after the fight. “Miah is a good fighter. He had never been beaten in the professional ranks, and had never been knocked down. But I changed all of that, that’s not bad for a debutant!”
Kinga, who is a senior kickboxing instructor at Springhealth in Islington, regularly teaches group and private training sessions.
