Medal haul delight: Alex Borisov

SPEEDY swimmer Alex Borisov returned home from Sheffield proudly boasting two medals after making a splash at the English Summer Swimming Championships. 

Held at Ponds Forge, the talented 14-year-old, who competes for Camden Swiss Cottage Swimming Club, scooped a silver medal in the men’s 100m breaststroke with an impressive time of 1.12.57 – finishing just four tenths of a second behind the winner. 

Alex also clinched a brilliant bronze in the shorter 50m breaststroke sprint, touching home in 33.50 seconds.  

Alex Panteli, 17, did well to make the final of the men’s 200m butterfly, where he finished fifth with a time of 2.11.41. 

Natalia Kaczmarczyk, 15, also put in a strong swim to take 10th position in the final of the women’s 100m freestyle in 1.01.16. 

A successful summer also saw Alex Borisov and Isobel Moffatt take part in the British Swimming Championships. 

Alex finished in 14th place in the men’s 200m breaststroke. 

Isobel also put in a fantastic display to make the final of the 50m butterfly with a qualifying time of 28.65secs.

The 17-year-old was just off that pace in the final as she finished in 29.25secs to take 10th position.
