How the new Camden Town underground station could look
• JOHN Stratton suggested my Lib Dem colleagues and myself only wrote to the New Journal regarding the future of Camden Town station for publicity reasons, (Objections to the new tube station were wrong , April 19).
Nothing could be further from the truth. We remember the debates 12 years ago about Camden Town station’s future. Of course we need major improvements to the station.
The new plans, what we have seen so far, are a major improvement on the previous ones. Still, though, there are serious issues. The proposed developments will be too dominant and will alter the whole character of Camden’s centre.
Although the scale is totally different from the proposals for Euston the same principle applies. Both plans are out of scale in order to provide funds without taking account of other interests.
