Stand up for the unborn and those without a voice

• AS a Christian I find it shocking that people would complain that a church would be pro-life, (Church in ‘anti-abortion event’ row, August 18).

The church has every right to support organisations that are in alignment with their biblical beliefs. It’s ironic that those in the community wish to use a Christian space for their events but are in uproar that it’s being used for a Christian event and have even resorted to vandalism and damage of personal property.

We have a right to our opinion, as those in opposition also do. But it seems that if you don’t agree with their view then you are wrong and must be stopped.

This is not at all dissimilar to the arguments for slavery of the 1800s, where black people were “not human”, did not have a voice, did not have a right to life and those who challenged it and advocated for the end of slavery, were wrong, shunned by society, and even killed. That being said, thank you for highlighting this.

I stand in agreement with George Platt, and hope many other churches and Christians across the country will stand up for the unborn and those without a voice too.
