SPURS FC: The Crow – What Spurs Won In The Derby, They Lost Against Stoke

SPURS lost 2-1 on Sunday, and it’s not often millions get to witness a robbery, live in high definition.  Even more bizarre is that every viewer of this heinous crime can identify the perpetrators.

Pantomime season is here and referee Chris Foy and his bumbling assistants are rightly cast as the villains in this piece!  Stoke did what they always do to all that travel to the Britannia Stadium: defend robustly, cajole, bully and bombard the penalty area with long throws.

We played better in the second half and should have got something from the game but instead, enter the scoundrel dressed in black, armed with a whistle and two cards.

Two henchmen, similarly attired, but equipped with flags, stand on each side of the stage and they all combine to do their worst.

Blatant handballs in both boxes: missed!  Defending akin to wrestling: missed!  A goal scored by Emmanuel Adebayor: ruled out by a phantom offside flag.

What I don’t understand is this: if the fourth official was allowed the time to inform the referee that Younis Kabul had gesticulated that he needed glasses, and the referee, by brandishing a yellow card, acted upon it, then why could he not intervene in any of the other five or six incidents missed by Mr Foy?

Interesting question.

No? Don’t worry though Spurs fans, we’ll use that fave panto shout when it comes to this defeat. It’s behind you!
