SPURS’ plunge in form has been evident for all to see, therefore I offer no excuses.
Their lacklustre performance on Monday was all the more disappointing because we showed no fight and, unlike times gone by, looking at the bench didn’t fill me with much hope.
Some may have been rested for the weekend’s semi-final but alas the battle is now.
Newcastle have been as magnificent as Tottenham are poor and they sit level with us on points, with momentum on their side.
Let’s talk about the idiot that is Mario Balotelli and the incompetence of a manager who should have seen disaster approaching.
This man has single-handedly derailed Manchester City’s fast-track attempt to gate-crash the riches of domestic and European football and all but Roberto Mancini saw it coming.
Balotelli’s tackle on Alex Song wasn’t surprising; the fact the referee saw it and did nothing, however, was! The sad thing is we know his history and undoubted skill but what’s the point of having such a blessing when all you do with it is court controversy?
Arsenal fans, as far as banter goes, I thought it a touch of class when you turned your backs to celebrate the goal.
As for some of our own fans, when has booing the boys ever helped?
A remedy my brother thought of is this: the next time you feel like booing, try singing instead. You might be surprised at the outcome for both you and the team.
