SPURS FC: The Crow – Postcard From India: Wish We Beat Wolves

AS many readers will know, I’m in India this week.

It’s an amazing experience.

I’ve been enthralled and saddened by the sights seen and sounds heard, but what are Tottenham doing drawing 1-1 with Wolves?

Mick McCarthy knows his limitations, therefore sets his team up to play a certain way.

So them scoring first was the worst-case scenario because they could defend and play on the break.

I knew we’d equalise but we were always chasing the game.

Spurs bombarded Wolves with the kind of expansive, creative, play that most neutrals love to watch.

So now my beloved are two points behind Manchester Utd and five behind Manchester City.

We had the opportunity to leapfrog United and go joint top but I cannot be too disappointed about not doing so: because we’re still five points above Chelsea and a whopping 10 above them!

Let's put things into perspective here, the two games we lost at the beginning of the season to the Manchester clubs will cost us but Harry’s priority, as he’s continually said, is a top-four finish.

It’s misquotes by the media, some frenzied Arsenal songs and our top-four position that have made Spurs title contenders. I’ll be content this season, finishing above Arsenal and Chelsea.

The icing on the cake would be a humbling 2012- 2013 season for the Gooners in the Europa League.

That’ll  give them just enough time to get Dennis Bergkamp back and enquire on the fitness of Liam Brady.
