SPURS FC: The Crow – It's time for the final sheikh-up of an exciting season

Thursday, 10th May 2012

WHAT a palaver! I woke Sunday morning excited about the day ahead.

My prediction Arsenal would drop points proved right, all Tottenham had to do was win at Aston Villa.

They didn’t, so now it’s down to the last day of the season.

What excitement and suspense to the final moment.

Who could ask for more?

Don’t listen to the idiots that say the season has been a damp squib: they are not football supporters, they’re team supporters and comments like that usually mean their team has failed!

Competition for Champions League places has been thrilling and it took another turn when Liverpool beat Chelsea: their fate for next season now lies in a German stadium on May 19.

Win it and they break the hearts of those positioned in fourth place and if my beloved do occupy that spot, it’s their own fault.

As for the saga going on at the top, Manchester City have been amazing.

I questioned at the beginning of the season the amount Yaya Toure was being paid, but his invention and sheer power has stabilised their rise (a bit like Patrick Vieira all that time ago) particularly at the back end of the season.

Yes Sheikh Mansour’s money has been a contributing factor but finance has always talked and that won’t change.

I don’t think there’ll be another season like this one and if City win the title, with their buying power they might rule the roost for a long time.
