SPURS FC: The Crow – Has England dreaming cost us our form?

BOLTON battened down the hatches at the Lane on Tuesday night as Tottenham displayed some of their early-season prowess, constructing wave after wave of attacks.
Keeper Adam Bogdan was inspired and for a while it felt like we wouldn’t score. We did and, as they say, the rest is history.
As for the clash with Chelsea at Wembley, I rub my hands in anticipation of that one. Saturday’s no-score draw at Stamford Bridge was in most parts a damp squib but there’ll be no love lost in either semi-final as Merseyside prepares for Liverpool versus Everton.
I’m at a bit of a loose end with this week’s column because it feels like there’s an elephant in the room that needs to be discussed.
Seemingly it was our start to the season that flattered to deceive, understandably Spurs fans now have to take it on the chin.
Because I have the ongoing privilege of writing about our triumphs and failures, I say what I can in approx 245 words so need to choose them carefully and though some would say subjective, I think most will concede that I’m fair in my observations.
Lots has been made of the FA’s procrastination with the England job overlapping Spurs’ slump in form.
I no longer prescribe to that thought.
I believe £50-100k-a-week should clear the mind of most obstacles, the hard fact is we are not yet knowledgeable enough to grind out results.
