• SPRING has sprung in Gospel Oak; a picture of an area that, as we can see from this picture, is lovingly tended by a group of volunteers, come rain or shine. The area was previously a cross between a dogs’ toilet and a mounds of builders’ rubble.

Alas a nearby patch of about-to-flower daffodils also tended by the group was recently mown down by council contractors. At least the patch in the photo escaped the council’s “care”. We should be thankful, I suppose, for small mercies.
