• AS said in last week’s letter (The Rwanda challenge, September 29), for several years Stand Up To Racism (SUTR) has welcomed pro-Israel groups attending its marches, in the full knowledge that they will bring Israeli flags.

SUTR’s excuse is that: “We will not allow Palestine to split the anti-racist movement.”

In reality, it is the Israeli flag which has split the movement: many participants have sought to exclude the pro-Israel contingent, while some Muslim groups have simply abstained from such events.
