Horses led the procession for Elaine Heyfron

WHITE horses and a saxophonist led a funeral procession to St Dominic’s Priory Church where friends and family bid a fond farewell to Elaine Heyfron.

Floral tributes lined the street outside the church for the popular florist who grew up in Queen’s Crescent and ran stalls in the market there and also Finchley Road and Kentish Town for more than 25 years.

She died on February 17, aged just 52, while on a family trip in Spain.

The Catholic service at the church included several hymns, psalms and a reading of “the letter of St Paul to the Romans”.

Mourners went into the church with Ave Maria playing and there was a musical interlude of Kum Ba Yah before the poem When a Loved One Goes Away was read.

One of five sisters, Ms Heyfron was proud mum to Tasha, Harry and Lainie.

Her partner Peter Boon was described as her “soulmate”.

“I’ve got no tissues for your issues” and “here for a good time, not for a long time” were among her well-known sayings.

The tributes included a floral royal-style crown on top of the hearse and there was a bouquet in the shape of a vodka bottle, and also one featuring her beloved dog Teddy.

The burial was at Islington and St Pancras Cemetery, East Finchley, and the wake was held at the Mill Hill Services Club.

Her family are continuing to run the stalls at Finchley Road in her memory.

The family wishes to thank everyone who attended and E&D scaffolding for supplying the lorry for the flowers.
