A PUBLIC health warning was issued late last week after a spate of suspected drug overdoses in Camden.

Around six people suffered a potential drug overdose over a 10-day period in the borough, with three of those being fatal.

The names of the three people who died have not been released, and the exact cause of their death remains under investigation.

Camden and Islington Public Health alerted councils and key organisations about the incidences saying that anecdotal reports said that heroin that appeared pink or green was found with one or more of the individuals.

Those working with opiate users were told to be vigilant for signs of overdose and to remind service-users to be extra cautious about who they are sourcing their drugs from.

A Camden Council spokesperson said: “Our sympathies are with everyone who knew those who have died.”
