So where do I put my Xs?

• I DELAYED doing my postal vote for Gospel Oak in the vain hope I would get leaflets from the 10 candidates.
I got just two.
One ranted on about “forced vaxx poisoning and mutilation and sex abuse of our children”.
The other was from the three sitting Labour councillors claiming to be “on your side”.
What is interesting is what it did not say.
On housing it called for the need for more council flats with a picture of private flats sold for £750k and £950k. Obviously affordable for those on the average annual £26k wage in the borough!
It failed to say that there were now about 40 fewer council flats in the area or explain why the Bacton building site had been left empty for almost a decade. Or explain why the demolished 30 small workshops had not been replaced.
It called for more funding for community groups yet failed to tell us that Camden Council had now reimposed £50k rent and business rates on our community centre.
On the Murphy’s Yard development, it claimed that they had “submitted an objection” to developments. No evidence of this can be found.
We do know that the two of the members on the planning committee had voted for the construction of a 26-storey private flats in another ward in the teeth of opposition from residents.
There is no mention of their reaction to the eviction of council tenants reported in
your Letters pages of April 28.
The claim is: “We will always speak up for the residents of Gospel Oak and be your champions”. Does this include the evicted?
No reference was made either to the large number of BAME residents living in the area, or the devastating effect of the “experiment” on Queen’s Crescent retail businesses.
It does not mention the sterling work of Larraine in the attempt of the food bank, over 10 months, to get new premises as it is being squeezed out of its present home because of council-imposed rent. Larraine has also been most helpful on other matters related to vulnerable residents.
As to the other parties’ candidates, nobody knows who they are or what they have ever done for the community.
So where do I put my Xs?
Why are vote-seeking pamphlets allowed to contain what is tantamount to fake news, if mainly by omission?
