So I was not alone in my concerns over moving GP surgery

The King’s Cross railwaylands regeneration site

• THANKS for the report on King’s Cross Surgery moving to Somers Town, (No NHS doctors left to serve people in borough’s largest regeneration site, January 27).

I am a patient at the surgery and a resident in the KX development. Last August the surgery emailed me explaining the move to Somers Town and advocated the benefits a move to one site would bring.

They requested feedback and I responded in September: “There has been no discussion as to whether the services (in either practice) will suffer as a result of less combined space available.

“More pressingly, King’s Cross Surgery was the closest surgery to King’s Cross Central. This is a new and growing community with 7,000 (new) residents and 5,000 students.

“The area already has relatively limited access to local services nearby and this move further alienates this community. Plans were made… for a medical centre… I understand that these were scrapped due to a lack of interest.

“Thereby, the developer appears to have absolved themselves from any financial commitments here – meanwhile – our closest local GP is choosing to relocate to an area that is further away and likely has different health needs.”

The feedback summary states they received 709 responses; but little feedback is included. My comments were not addressed nor have I received a response.

But your report does give me confidence I was not the only one to have these concerns.
