BUDDING young football fans (pictured) are being given the chance to sharpen their skills by signing up for “after school professional coaching sessions” at Maitland Park Sports Centre.

Organised by Fair Play Football, children aged four to 11 years can join in the hour-long training sessions at the gym in Chalk Farm twice a week during term time.

Head coach Peter Chapman made it clear that the new venture has nothing to do with a youth team that he’s also running.

“This isn’t about West End FC,” he said. “This is about the fact there are limited opportunities for children to enjoy professional training straight after school. When you’re part of a club you’re mainly playing and training at the weekend, so this gives them something extra.”

The sessions will be held Tuesdays and Wednesday between 4pm and 5pm, call 07956 233977 for details.
