HE doesn’t mention it much, but Sir Rod Stewart is a massive Celtic fan – and on Saturday night the Hot Legs and Sailing hitmaker needed somewhere to watch the club’s cup match.

So the 81-year-old pulled up at the Sheephaven Bay pub in Camden Town – a known hotbed of fanatic support for the Bhoys.

Pat Logue, the landlord at the pub in Mornington Street, said: “He rang ahead for a table and had his gold Rolls Royce waiting outside.”

Sir Rod had snaps with the staff and was in a good mood as a potential upset against Dundee turned out all right in the end when Celtic scored a dramatic injury-time goal – sending the bar into ecstatic raptures.

He is a regular at Celtic Park and who was at the Old Firm derby game in Glasgow match with Rangers last month sat close to star guest Stormzy.

The singer grew up near Archway Road and went to Highgate Primary School and Fortismere Secondary School – when it was called William Grimshaw School – before getting his first job as a grave digger in Highgate Cemetery.

But after a flirtation with being an Arsenal fan as a boy, he nailed his green and white colours to the mast and even had his backing singers wear Celtic kits during his performance in the legends slot at Glastonbury.

The team must pass both Rangers and Hearts if they are to win the league in Scotland this year, though.
