Boys from Ashmount Primary School

THE boys from Ashmount Primary School can proudly boast to be the best young footballers in town after they netted glory in a major youth tournament held at Market Road. 

A single strike from Han Willhoft-King saw the triumphant team beat rivals Yerbury (pictured below) 1-0 at the newly-refurbished pitches to capture the Islington District Cup. 

In all, 16 primary schools entered the competition, but it was Ashmount’s tremendous team effort that saw them come out on top. 

Their players weren’t the only ones celebrating, however, as the boys’ football team from St Mary Magdalene Academy also had plenty of reason to cheer after being presented with the Fair Play award.
