Signs of the times with parking penalty notices
Thursday, 14th September 2017
• EARLIER this year I saw a parking attendant (or whatever fanciful name they are called these days) possibly issuing a motorist with a penalty charge notice when the “suspension notice” had fallen to ground level and was therefore invisible to the motorist.
When I drew the council’s attention to the “falling signs”, which have been a “problem” for about six years now, I received a most remarkable response from the council which includes the sentence: “With regards to Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs), the position of signs is something we of course take into consideration when appeals are received……”.
Words fail me!
