Sign up to the clean air for Camden pledge
Thursday, 15th February 2018
• I HAVE been inundated with messages of support for Camden’s ambition, agreed by councillors a fortnight ago, to aim for stricter, healthier, air quality standards than currently mandated.
Your very striking headline (Town Hall declares war on car drivers, February 1) helped signal our intent, though I would add that we also need to win drivers over, not defeat them.
Residents from across the borough have been in touch to offer their help. Parents have shared their worries about the road pollution near their children’s schools. Many have already signed up to the Clean Air for Camden pledge at camden.gov.uk/airquality.
The task now is to put in place a new plan for the borough to help us clean up our air. The community will be at the heart of this – we need all who live and work in Camden to be part of the mission, persuading and demanding greater change.
I look forward to hearing more ideas and making this a reality.
