SHOWSTOPPING Slattery’s pulled off one of the shocks of the night on Monday when they beat Golden Lion to reach the quarter-finals of the Chalk Farm Pool League’s Liam Tarrant Cup.
The Camden Town-based side (pictured) are now one of only two second division teams left in the competition after beating division one opponents Lion 5-2 in a one-sided encounter.
Fellow division two side Florin also reached the last eight after beating rivals Cock Tavern 5-4 in one of the games of the night.
The shocks continued with cup holders The Boston Arms being smashed 5-0 by the seemingly-unstoppable cue wizards of King’s Cross Hurricanes.
Sir Robert Peel also progressed into the quarter-finals courtesy of a 5-2 win over King’s Cross Hawks, while there were also wins for Boston Old Skool, Cousins Elite, the King’s Cross Barbarians and the Green Man.
