PUPILS at La Sainte Union secondary school were performing in front of a live audience again for the first time since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Friends, parents, staff and residents gathered at the all-girls school in Highgate Road this week to see two performances of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew with “a feminist twist”.
Backing performances were provided by a combined jazz band of professional musicians and A-level music students.
Head of drama Sarah O’Keefe told the New Journal on Tuesday: “Tonight’s performance went brilliantly. I was proud of the girls, who played their roles with total commitment and found the fun and comedy moments in the play, whilst keeping it well paced and energised.”
