Show parents the evidence

There seems to be a mismatch between the education supremo’s thinking and that of parents
• FROM the September 8 CNJ we learn from Richard Osley that nearly half Camden secondary school children attend private schools.
Clearly there are parents who have real concerns about their children attending local state secondary schools.
However Cllr Marcus Boyland, cabinet member for best start for children and families, is quoted as saying Camden schools were “absolutely fantastic”.
It therefore appears there is a mismatch between parents’ views and those of the newly-appointed Camden education supremo.
Could Cllr Boyland therefore please:
— 1. prepare evidence-based data for Year 6 parents on how Camden schools are “great”; and
— 2. draw up and publish a fully-costed financial package of support to local schools to help mitigate the costs of rising wages and massively increasing energy bills?
Both could be presented to Year 6 parents and families about to make the difficult decision on where their children might transfer to after primary school.
