Collapsed manhole cover on Kentish Town Road

• FOR a month now, the outside lane northbound on Kentish Town Road at the lights for Prince of Wales Road has been blocked because of a collapsed manhole cover (pictured above).

No doubt the responsibility is one of the utilities. It’s a Camden road and citizens might reasonably expect a little initiative from council officers. How little effort would it take to put down a mild steel plate temporarily?

And why are the welcomed plans for neighbourhood traffic-calming in both east and west Kentish Town not yet implemented, before the schools return?
