A HIGH Court judge was told this week that a long-standing family business refusing to sell their property to Spurs would sit in the middle of the centre circle of Tottenham’s new pitch if they do not move out.
Lord Justice Dove has been presiding over a two-day hearing after Archway Steel, based in Paxton Road, took the club to a judicial review after they were granted a compulsory purchase order.
The steel firm are the last of 71 businesses to hold out against the club’s redevelopment plans.
The judge heard that the business was crucial to the stadium redevelopment – as their workshop is where the new centre circle is due to be. The decision could be as early as Friday.
Meanwhile Spurs enter a crucial 10-day period that will make or break their season.
They face Italian team Fiorentina tonight (Thursday) in the first leg of the Europa League knock-out round before taking on West Ham in the league on Sunday.
Then it’s over to Tuscany next Thursday for the second leg followed by a trip to Wembley a week Sunday for the Capital One Cup final against Chelsea.
Head coach Mauricio Pochettino revealed his squad has a clean bill of health with no new injuries to report.
