SPURS manager Mauricio Pochettino was quick to defend his team selection for the 1-0 home defeat against West Brom.
Centre-backs Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches turned in shaky displays, prompting questions why Poch kept Jan Vertonghen on the bench and didn’t even include Federico Fazio in the squad for Sunday.
With Arsenal next up on Saturday, Poch defended his previous selection, saying: “Our best starting team depends on each game. A bad performance on Sunday is not because of the changes. We have a strong squad and we need to use our players, we’ve a lot of games ahead.”
He did not think his squad was firing on all cylinders yet. “At the moment the players are not in a position to play three games in one week,” he said.
