Best Newcomer: Nabil Bentaleb became a symbol for the anti-Sherwood brigade, but he didn’t put a foot wrong. Dare I say his style reminds me of Vinny Samways.
Best Performance: We smashed in four away at Newcastle and bashed Manchester United at Old Trafford. But I’m going for a game that ended up a disaster. The first 60 minutes at Chelsea was great fun before Vertonghen slipped, Kaboul saw red and everything fell to bits.
Best Goal: Sandro’s winner against Man United had the Lane on its feet so it gets my vote – just ahead of Christian Eriksen’s free kicks and Soldado’s drought-breaker against Cardiff.
Best Chant: Tears flowed when fans sung He’s Only Got One Broom and Sing Up for Trigger, He’s One of Our Own the weekend after Roger Lloyd Pack passed away. A moving tribute.
Flop(s) of the Season: This award needs to be plural. It should be shared between Daniel Levy, both managers AVB and Tim Sherwood and – at one point or another throughout a benighted campaign – the entire team!
Player if the Season: Hugo Lloris just gets the nod over Eriksen. The number of times, through no fault of his own, Hugo had to pick the ball out of the net at Manchester City was certainly character building.
