TOTTENHAM’S injury storm is blowing itself out as boss Tim Sherwood welcomes back a host of senior players in time to tackle Everton in Sunday’s crunch league game.

Sherwood defended Tottenham’s lack of transfer action in the January window by saying that he had so many players coming back from injury that he didn’t need to add anyone new to the squad.

In Saturday’s away draw at Hull, he welcomed defensive lynchpin Jan Vertonghen back into the fold after an eight-week lay off. More good news includes Younes Kaboul’s return, Paulinho coming through the Hull game unscathed and Andros Townsend back in full training.

Meanwhile under-fire striker Roberto Soldado, who has scored just one goal from open play all season, has been given a vote of confidence.

Sherwood said: “He is a confident lad when it comes to scoring goals, and scoring goals is something he has done all his career. All strikers have barren spells. I’m sure one goal will open the floodgates.

“There isn’t a striker in the game who hasn’t gone through a lean spell at some time or other, but he is a top lad who trains really well and it won’t be long before something falls his way.

“One will come off his backside, and it will turn it all around. That’s what happens for strikers, it’s a confidence thing.”
