SHOT-STOPPER Michel Vorm has said he is ready to grab every opportunity he’s given between the sticks after deputising for the injured Hugo Lloris on Sunday at Burnley.
Chances were few and far between at both ends during the somewhat stale goalless draw at Turf Moor, but the Dutch international was forced into action to deny Burnley’s Danny Ings on a couple of occasions.
Vorm said he was pleased to keep a clean sheet, but admitted it was an opportunity missed as Tottenham continue to chase a place in the top four.
“When you go to a place like Burnley you know they are fighting against relegation and that they’ll make it difficult for you,” he said.
“They didn’t have that many big chances over the 90 minutes, but they kept going and gave everything.
“It could have been a good day after Saturday’s results so it’s a shame we didn’t win, but the ‘nil’ against their name was the most positive thing.
“In the end, it was not our best game, and you still have to make sure you don’t lose.”
The match marked Vorm’s first Premier League start for Spurs, and he was quick to make it clear he’s ready to take every opportunity that comes his way.
He said: “You always have to be ready.
“Now it’s my chance and against Burnley I think I did OK. That’s what we train for every day.”
