THE action returned to Market Road on Friday as what promises to be another enthralling season packed with thrills, spills, goals and super team shows got underway.
UNDER-9s SOUTH DIVISION
SHARPSHOOTER Gabe Hann struck twice as The Heath Foxes celebrated their first competitive game at Market Road on Friday with an exciting victory.
Zac Evans was also on target as The Heath sealed a thrilling 3-2 win over Angel Islington.
UNDER-10s A DIVISION
CLINICAL finishes from the two Camerons handed The Heath Foxes a 2-0 win over Crown and Manor on Monday.
Cameron Hannah showed tremendous composure from the penalty spot to open the scoring, before debutant Cameron Rennie came off the bench to make the game safe with a fierce drive that went in off the post.
Heath defender Corie Alexander was voted player-of-the-match after making a string of last-ditch challenges.
UNDER-10s B DIVISION
THE Heath Cougars made a winning debut at Market Road on Friday after netting a 1-0 victory over Crown and Manor.
Hotshot Eric Lopes grabbed the only goal of the game after being set-up by star player Teddy Jones, who put in an eye-catching display in midfield.
UNDER-13s A DIVISION
DEFENDING champions Isledon Wolves began the defence of their title with a great team performance against Pro Touch Soccer Academy on Monday. Wolves took the lead with a brilliant sweeping move that ended with the lively Nicky Marshall pulling the ball back for Ethan Irvine to finish cooly.
Player-of-the-match Bradley Carrete crowned an outstanding display with a goal to wrap up an impressive 2-0 win.
David Mehmeti was also singled out for praise by his manager after putting in a commanding display in his Isledon Wolves debut.
UNDER-14s DIVISION
GOALS from Sang Pierre Gomez and Bassam Menhal saw Isledon Wolves kick off their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Islington Admiral Youth on Friday.
The clean-sheet was the perfect reward for the defensive pairing of Max Stipanovsky and Andrew Mason, who broke up Admiral’s attacks before they could threaten the Wolves goal.
