Share your views on accessing Met police services

• AT a meeting with representatives of the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) we discussed ways the public will contact police in the future.
The MOPAC representatives seemed confident that closing expensive police stations and promoting informal police/public contacts at street level, in supermarkets and shopping centres, was a positive step forward.
They also told us that the public will come to prefer reporting crime by phone and online rather than face-to-face with an officer.
Whatever your readers’ thoughts on these proposals they have an opportunity to express them via the online consultation – “Share your views on accessing Met police services” – at: https://www.london.gov.uk/what-we-do/mayors-office-policing-and-crime-mopac/mopac-consultations/share-your-views-accessing-met. You can have your say until October 6.
