• GREAT to hear such good news for a change. Michael Braithwaite can stay in England, (Two-year immigration ordeal is finally over, April 12).

Michael is a popular and much-loved man, who’s worked hard with children and given, and still gives, much pleasure with his music.

The fact that a British subject, and his family, had to go through years of misery is beyond belief. Why did those responsible not do their homework properly?

“They” can’t deport blatant criminals but can make innocent people’s lives a misery.
