See sense and throw out this proposal

• FURTHER to the letter (The alcohol licence application for the old town hall should be refused, October 31), about the proposed plans to turn the old town hall into a dining and drinking club, applicants Il Bottaccio / Eventhia have filed a last-minute 146-page pack including amendments, using the same trick when they applied for a late-night licence for the Camden Centre last year, making it too late for objectors to include these in their submissions.
A careful reading of the new “pack” under the “noise testing” section shows that the applicants are proposing to have loud-speakers on the four town hall terraces blasting out continual muzak from 10am until 9pm.
Is this what Camden Council really wants to happen to its iconic building, canned musak broadcast across the entire neighbourhood of the “knowledge quarter”, to say nothing of the effect on residents all day who live facing the town hall across a narrow street?
Again we ask the Camden Council to see sense and throw out not just the licensing application but the entire proposal.
